MUSIC UPDATED - NEW DEAD MEN WALKING ALBUM
Ahead of the release of the much anticipated 'originals' album Dead Men Walking have recorded their first studio LP of greatest hits. "Graveyard Smashes Volume 1" was recorded on the evening of 2nd October at the Foel Studios in Wales. The record features 4 Stray Cats classics with Jim singing lead vocals on "Rumble in Brighton" and "Little Miss Prissy". Many of the tracks are introduced by the band, and who knows, you may even find out an interesting 'fact' about the original title of "Rock This Town"?!?!? PHOTOS UPDATED - DEAD MEN WALKING
The Dead Men finished the 2006 tour on a high last night playing to a full house at Worksop's Circle Arts Centre.
TV Smith warmed the crowd up with his impassioned performance and on request treated the road crew to a special impromptu version of "Xmas Bloody Xmas"; after the first few bars roadies Vince and Craig set the scene carrying a Christmas tree, complete with lights, on to the stage and joined in on backing vocals. Captain Sensible completed the picture entering the stage with a large broom in hand and proceeded to sweep the floor.
It was then time for Jim, Kirk, Mike and the Captain to do their thing. It wasn't long before many of the revellers were out of their seats filling the floor in front of the stage. Stray Cats' tracks played were "Runaway Boys", "Stray Cat Strut", "Rumble In Brighton" and "Rock This Town". Other highlights were Kirk Brandon's "Spirits", Mike Peters' "Blaze Of Glory" (complete with rousing chorus by the audience) and the Captain's "New Rose" which he dedicated to his tie(!) and Malcolm McLaren with a reminder that said song was the UK's first punk rock single and noting that the Sex Pistols were in fact the original manufactured boy band!! Vince and Craig were at large at various points during the show; giving their marks out of ten for the band's performance of "Stray Cat Strut" and changing the backdrop slide during "Glad It's All Over" and "Up For Murder" (see photo page for the evidence).
All in all a superb performance to end a fantastic tour. Thanks to everyone who came to the shows and joined in the fun. Next up in the Phantom calendar - the return to Oz!!

PHOTOS UPDATED - DEAD MEN WALKING
Leeds' City Varieties Music Hall had a taste of something a little bit different on Tuesday night as Dead Men Walking took to the stage of the quaint all-seater theatre. Seabrooks crisps in hands the band started the evening with a subtle(?!) advert for the tasty snack and Captain Sensible's new political party, the Blah! Party (more info click here). Even Jim's bass drum has been Blah!d (see photos)!! The band powered through their classic repertoire breaking up the set with humourous anecdotes and banter with the crowd. Jim continues to bring his slick rockabilly style into the mix with his rock solid and dynamic beats. As usual it was all over too quickly and the crowd were still shouting for more after the house lights went up. To everyone's pleasure and surprise the band came back for a much appreciated second encore, a cover of the Sonny Curtis classic "I Fought The Law", dedicated to the late great Joe Strummer. The Captain rounded the night off as only he could, taking his final bow with his back to the crowd having removed the clothing from the lower part of his body! All in a night's work for Dead Men Walking. View photos now by clicking here.

SLIM
JIM PHANTOM - ON TOUR - DEAD MEN WALKING
Jim and Dead Men Walking were back in Norwich last night as the fifth date of the current tour took them to the UEA's Waterfront venue. Warmed-up by a passionate TV Smith performance the crowd eagerly welcomed the 'Dead Men' on stage. As expected DMW gave a slick high-energy performance and sounded better than ever despite most of the band (and crew) suffering from colds! As you'll see from the exclusive AAA photos that we'll be adding to the site later this week, Jim, Mike, Kirk and Cap were all looking very dapper in their suits and ties [the Captain's shirt/tie combo in a class all of its own!], but it certainly didn't stop them from rockin' out in their inimitable style. Highlights, and new additions to the set list, were the Alarm's "Up For Murder" and Joy Division cover "Transmission". There are still plenty of dates left on the tour so get out there and join in the fun. Visit the TOUR page for full schedule.
