I am a Stray Cats fan since 1980 when I was 11. I remember one evening when my brother told me: "come into my room, I want you to listen to some music that I am sure you will love". It was "Rock This Town".
I
got immediately fond of this music and I still am! I saw a Stray Cats
live concert for the first time in 1983 in Paris at "The Palace".
I was 14, it was my first concert and it was just magic! I remember this
extraordinary moment as if it was yesterday and I still have all the images
in my mind… it's great!
Then I grew up with this music and I regularly listened to it while I
was studying. And now that I am working as a graphic designer I still
listen to it while I am working.
I was lucky to attend their live concerts several times in France : Palace / Paris in 1983, Elysées Montmartre / Paris in 1990, Grand Rex / Paris in 1992, Zenith / Paris in 2004 and Théâtre de Fourvière / Lyon in 2004.
I live in Paris and really, I don't regret having taken a train to go and see them in Lyon last July 26th. Indeed a very nice surprise was awaiting me there : This picture with Slim Jim Phantom, Brian Setzer and me has been taken when they left their hotel after the concert and just before their departure for Switzerland to perform their next concert.
For 24 years I have been dreaming of this day when I could live this situation. Today, I'm so happy my dream came true.
Well,
you have all understood that I adore the Stray Cats and I must even admit
that I am more particularly fond of Slim Jim…. But please don't tell
