TOUR - SJP TRIO IN SOUTH AMERICA
Next week Jim will be heading down to South America for dates with his trio featuring guitarist Jimmy Rip. We can now confirm that the venue for the first show in Rio de Janeiro is Estrella da Lapa. 27 May 09 BACK IN BUSINESS - TOUR NEWS!
Apologies to anyone who has been trying to get in touch over the last week or so, we've been experiencing some technical difficulties (ie Faith's computer crashed!) but thankfully we're back in business AND can now bring you the latest exciting tour news from SJP Central!
First up, Jim has 5 shows in Wisconsin coming up real soon. The first date is this Sunday 31st May. Jim will be joined for these shows by Jamie James and Tom Silk.
The beginning of July will see SJP heading down to South America with guitarist Jimmy Rip.
Finally Jim is embarking on a brand new project with Robert Gordon, Chris Spedding and Glen Matlock. The band will be hitting the road later in the year and a few shows have already been confirmed in August.

Back in October 2007 Jim took part in the Love Hope Strength Foundation's Everest Rocks trek. During the trip Jim visited the Kanti Children's Hospital in Kathmandu. In February a member of the LHS team went back to Nepal to visit Kanti, Jim sent along some much needed supplies and threw in some SJP t-shirts! LOVE HOPE STRENGTH AUSTRALIA
Not satisfied with simply being in Australia to tour with the Stray Cats Jim will also be appearing with the Love Hope Strength Australia Band. On 24th February Jim will join other special guests and fundraisers in a stair climb to the 17th floor of 383 Kent Street, Sydney. This will then be followed by a short acoustic performance by the LHS Oz Band. Funds raised will benefit the Adolescent & Young Adult Cancer Unit at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick. For more information and/or to register to take part please visit www.lovehopestrength.org.au.

So if you're in Sydney for the Cats' shows on Monday or Tuesday next week you might want to get along to Kent Street on Tuesday morning and cheer on (or even join) The Phantom in his latest adventure!

SLIM JIM - BREAKING NEWS - AN UPDATE

Hey everyone!

Firstly Jim would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has emailed the site, signed the guestbook or messaged us via myspace since his accident at Brixton - to say we've been inundated would be an understatement! We're completely overwhelmed by your kind and thoughtful messages. We know that those of you who were due to attend one of the three remaining shows are extremely disappointed about the cancellations but your unselfish reaction and heartfelt concern for Jim has really blown us away. You truly are "the best"!

Secondly we wanted to give you an update on Jim's situation. He's back home, taking it easy but in a lot of pain. He will be having surgery on his wrist on Tuesday (16th). He'll be in a cast for 6 weeks or so and will then need physio rehab on the arm. The prognosis is very good and The Phantom will be back bangin' n' yellin' in plenty of time for the Australian tour.

Once again we can't thank you enough for your support and messages. We're happy to know that you'll all be thinking of Jim on Tuesday.

11 Sep 08 STRAY CATS - IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - REST OF TOUR CANCELLED
It is with the greatest regret that we have to announce that the rest of the Stray Cats European Tour has been cancelled; this affects the Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin shows. We are incredibly sorry for the disappointment that this will cause. As many of you already know Jim fell and broke his arm at last night's show; specifically he has broken his wrist in 3 places and is now in a plaster cast up to his elbow. He had hoped that he would be able to play tonight but as you will understand it is just not feasible for Jim to do this against his doctor's advice. Jim is devastated by this turn of events. Thank you all so much for your understanding and for the kind messages that have already been flooding into the site after last night's accident. Apart from his understandable disappointment about cancelling the last 3 shows he wants you all to know that he's doing fine and thanks you for your support and well wishes.

STRAY CATS - GOOD NEWS AND BAD
Anyone who was at the Brixton Academy last night witnessed a truly AMAZING performance by the kings of Rockabilly. What an INCREDIBLE show!! Three encores, including a guest appearance by Dave Edmunds, and the crowd was still shouting for more!
At the end of the show Jim took a fall off the stage and "sprained" his right arm. However, a doctor's check-up has revealed that he has in fact broken the arm in three places and it's now in a plaster cast. Very bad!! Incredibly, Jim has asked me to let you know that he intends to try and play tonight's gig in Manchester (against doctor's orders!) as planned. So he'll see you at the Academy.
THANK YOU all so much for your support of Jim and the Cats.
